My little Bumble Bee

For Halloween Wyatt was a bumble bee. I chose this outfit because on baby einstien his favorite character is the bee. Everytime he sees the bee he gets a huge smile on his face and he does some sort of baby talking to the bee. I love when he does this. He is just so facinated with this insect. I hate bugs so he must already be taking after his daddy who will pick up any bug with his bare hands. This sounds so so manly until he forgets to wash his buggy hands and tries to touch you. The pictures in this blog are at Wyatt's playgym halloween party and at dinner on halloween night at Sugar's Ribs. Vincent and I love this restaurant because we can sit out on the patio and have a great view of the entire city. Enjoy looking at my handsome bumble bee. Oh yeah the woman and the guy in the picture are employees at Sugar's.

4 year anniversary

On Oct 9 Vincent and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. Vincent planned an overnight trip (without Wyatt) to Fontana Lake in North Carolina. On the first afternoon we went to the lake. Fontana Lake is absolutely gorgeous. The lake is crystal clear and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. The water was a bit chilly for a swim but we had fun just hanging out on the boat. We stayed at the lodge and had a great dinner and breakfast there. The next day we slept late (until 730) and then went hiking on the forny trail in the smokey mountains. There is a bald, or field of grass, at the top of the forny trail. From there you can see many beautiful mountains. Also while at the top we got to see a rescue. A man had gotten lost on the trail and the search and rescue teams found him. They were carrying him back up to the top of the mountain (where we just happened to be) for a helicopter to take him to the hospital. The grassy top (otherwise known as the bald) is one of the only places for a helicopter to land in those mountains. We also hiked up to clingman's dome to see the beautiful views. On the way back to our car an old lady had fallen down a hill (we think). She was being taken care of by rangers but they did have her in a neck brace waiting for an ambulance. Although there were many casualties of the mountain Vincent and I made it out safe. We had a wonderful relaxed couple of days that we really needed. I love him sooo much. I added in the picture of Wyatt in the backpack with daddy because I think it is so cute. I really needed a small break from Wyatt so Vincent took Thorn and Wyatt on a walk. We are slowly exposing Wyatt to the hiking backpack. He really likes it so far.

Memphis visit

It is always so great to go home especially now that I have Wyatt. When you live so far away from your family, you just can't wait for them to dote on your baby. I love taking him there, because I know that my parents are excited about seeing him, and that is what you want when you have a child. That is the main reason that I have a hard time living in a different state. Friends are great, but unless they have children around the same age then they just listen but don't really care. My parents on the other hand love to listen and to see what he is doing. My mom has so far seen Wyatt at least every month for about 3-5 days at a time. She really shows me that she cares by driving so far about every other month to come and see him. I have flown to Memphis 2 times and driven once but every other time she has come here to see him (and she still works full time). So thanks mom for making the effort and I can't wait to see you this month. On this trip I also got to see my extremely beautiful sister and her extremely cute son. I dont know of many children that are as cute as he is. Everything about him is attractive. He has beautiful silky hair, tan skin, and the most amazing eyes. I guess he takes after his mom. I was so glad to see her. Although she lives so so far we have still managed to see Wyatt many times since he has been born (and she also works full time and lives about 8-9 hours away). I really appreciate her effort as well. She did not complain when I needed to put Wyatt to sleep for naps or bedtime. She did not try to push her ideas of no need for schedules off on me. She just took Elem outside where he could be loud and let Wyatt rest. Thanks Mindy. Well here are some pictures of our great weekend together. Our kids are the extreme opposites as you will see. Oh yeah and thanks sis for buying all the toys for the kids to leave at moms. Wyatt loved his excersaucer!

Chattanooga Race for the Cure

The last weekend of Sept was the Race For The Cure in Chattanooga. I asked a few of my friends to go with me but had no takers so I did it by myself. A little over a year ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although I have participated in this race so many times, it now is so much more important to me. I always love seeing all the runner and walkers out because you know the more people there the more money being raised to support the cause. I drove to the race alone, but after Wyatt woke up from his nap daddy and baby came to support me. This was my first race (only a 5K) back after having Wyatt and it was great! I love the picture of Wyatt in his stroller being a true home boy. He is showing his Memphis roots.

Racoon Mountain walk

Vincent, Thorn, Wyatt, and I went for a walk on Racoon Mountain the other day. Racoon Mountain is a great place to walk because it is about 5 miles of pavement, therefore we can use the stroller. Wyatt is OK with the stroller but after a couple of miles he would rather be carried. I enjoy walking on any paved area as compared to hiking because my risk of falling down a hill is majorly decreased. Vincent on the other hand would much rather go on a hiking trail. Racoon Mountain is a bit of both. On top of the mountain there is a lake (TVA pumps the water to the top of the mountain). Surrounding the lake are beautiful woods filled with deer and other animals. There are also many hiking trails through these woods that we have been on,and Vincent has biked on, but on this day Vincent gave in to me and we went pavement hiking:). Thorn had a wonderful time but everytime we walk her now we notice that she is not able to go as far as she use to. The walks and hikes are really showing her age but we still take her because she loves going. She is the best! Oh and for those of you who are checking my spelling and use of comma's or any other errors don't worry my mom wants to start proof reading my blogs before I post them (such a teacher).

Hiking with friends

Vincent and I finally got to use the hiking backpack that he gave me for my baby shower gift a long time ago. We decided to go to lookout mountain with some friends for what we thought may be a couple of miles but Vincent got a little lost and it ended up being about 4 miles. The baby did great until about mile 3 and then he decided he was ready to get out of the backpack. Vincent had to carry him the last mile to the car but it was such a fun day with our friends Nick and Leslie. They just recently moved to this area and are very interested in hiking. I hope they had an Ok time with a sad baby for the last mile. Vincent and I love hiking and it is always nice to go with other people especially people that are so intersted in expoloring as they are.
