Chattanooga Race for the Cure
The last weekend of Sept was the Race For The Cure in Chattanooga. I asked a few of my friends to go with me but had no takers so I did it by myself. A little over a year ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although I have participated in this race so many times, it now is so much more important to me. I always love seeing all the runner and walkers out because you know the more people there the more money being raised to support the cause. I drove to the race alone, but after Wyatt woke up from his nap daddy and baby came to support me. This was my first race (only a 5K) back after having Wyatt and it was great! I love the picture of Wyatt in his stroller being a true home boy. He is showing his Memphis roots.

I do so appreciate your running for me. It is really a wonderful feeling to see all of those people, women and men , in support of those living and dead who have had to deal with this disease. When I was in LR this weekend for the race, it actually choked me up as they played "This one's for the girls." Seeing that massive group of people was gratifying, and knowing that it goes on all over the nation in October would cheer even a very sick person. I am so glad you posted the pics from your race. I walked for a friend of mine who was not as lucky as I was to have had it diagnosed at such a critical point. She is still alive, but she is really suffering...and she has almost no one. Thank you for running, and thank you, Mindy and Elem, for walking (and carrying) all the way to the finish line. Now, there is one more thing you can do for me. Schedule a mammogram.
Great job supporting this significant cause. I have a blog for kindness at http://randomactsofconditionlesskindness.blogspot.com/
Feel free to list success stories of kindness there.
Thank you,

Thank you for running in the Race for the Cure. I lost my aunt to breast cancer and I truly appreciate the things that people do to show support.
Becky, I had no idea that your mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. It's going on 3 years that my mom was diagnosed. They caught the disease very early. My mom's mom also had the disease making my chances that much greater. My doctor as well as my mom's have basically "ordered" me to have a yearly mammogram by the age of 30. It's so nice to know that breast cancer has gotten more curable. I'm hoping that when my girls grow up that the disease can be prevented and it's no longer existent. Thanks for running for such a great cause! Looks like you had some fun as well! :)
Very impressive, Becky! And cute pictures of you and Wyatt. We enjoyed seeing you this weekend!
Way to go Becky!! Wyatt looks very proud of you!! :)
